The silver cat is one of the most familiar catfish, to fish for and develops to above 120 lbs.. The current challenger for the American recordbook of 124 lbs. is from the Alton Ill. 5 22 2005. These fish may live 19 years and longer. Virtually all varieties of catfish from uncontaminated water is very good table fare.
